Lazio AC Milan match preview

This semi-final match of the Coppa Italia is definitely far more interesting than the first one in which Juventus won Atalanta in the 1st leg, especially as Lazio and Milan drew their match at the San Siro played near the end of January. Both teams are in very good shape ahead of their showdown that will produce one finalist of the Coppa Italia. We need to add that both their head-to-head in the Serie A had ended as victories of home teams.

Lazio Rome

True, Lazio did it by better goal difference; it scored even three goals more, while before this match it is the 3rd in the Serie A table and has eight points more than 7th-placed Milan. The Rossoneri have significantly improved their form in the meantime, and everyone in Lazio’s team is aware that will have a very difficult job at the Olimpico stadium on Wednesday evening, regardless that Lazio has three-game winning streak.

In two previous league matches manager Inzaghi players had defeated with a clean sheet Verona at home and Sassuolo away, while in between the two matches they won Romanian FCSB, former Steaua, at home by 5-1 in the Europa League, with which they qualified for the round of 16. Regarding the team for the 2nd leg with Milan, we expect that Inzahgi sends the strongest team on the pitch given that place in the final is at stake, and especially as out of action is only injured midfielder de Gennaro.

Probable lineups Lazio Rome: Strakosha – Bastos, de Vrij, Radu – Marusic, Parolo, Leiva, Milinkovic-Savic, Lulic – Luis Alberto – Immobile

AC Milan

We have said in the introduction that the guests from Milan are also in a very good shape ahead of the 2nd leg of the Coppa Italia with Lazio, given their five-game winning streak. Playing in three different competitions Milan won out of last 12 matches even nine and drew three. Fact that manager Gattus players haven’t conceded a goal in last five games is significant and for example last weekend Milan won Roma 2-0 in the great derby of Serie A.

Series of good results has put back the Rossoneri in the race for positions that lead to Europe, although the Champions League is not too far any more as fourth-placed Inter has just seven points more, but the difference can be soon much smaller as Milan will face Inter in the Serie A next weekend. Milan recently eliminated Bulgarian Ludogorets and reached the round of 16 of the Europa League. We need to add that this match with Lazio will skip only injured defenders Conti and Antonelli.

Probable lineups AC Milan: G. Donnarumma – Calabria, Bonucci, Romagnoli, Rodriguez – Kessie, Biglia, Bonaventura – Suso, Kalinic, Calhanoglu

Verdict:

Although the 1st leg played at the San Siro had ended as goalless draw we expect to see them at the Olimpico stadium in Rome this time as both teams want to reach the final of the Coppa Italia before extra time.

Pick:  both teams to score 1.8 - 8/10 @1XBet
