Juventus Lazio match preview

After home defeat by Napoli at the start of new season Lazio faces old/new champion Juventus in the second round. On the other hand, team with most won titles in Italy had won way Chievo with far more difficulties than expected last weekend, but we expect that team lead by manager Allegri play much better at home, especially as last year it lost to matches to Lazio and won just one.

Juventus

The Old Lady from Turin had firstly lost the Italian Super Cup played at the Olimpico stadium in Rome to Lazio 3-2, while after that it lost again at home in the Serie A 2-1. True, this spring Juventus managed to revenge as it won in Rome 1-0, but they will quite certainly give their best to defeat Lazio in front of their fans, to whom they owe despite victory in the first round against Chievo 3-2.

It happened that team led by manager Allegri was trailing behind by 2-1 all the way up to 75 minute when Chievo’s stopper Bani scored an own goal, while reservist Bernardeschi scored the winner no sooner than in 93 minute. Right because of that we expect to see him in the starting line-up against Lazio just like the biggest reinforcement brought this summer Ronaldo, who is still seeking to score his first goal in Juventus jersey. We need to add that due to injuries still out of action are only defender de Sciglio and midfielder Spinazzola.

Starting lineups Juventus: Szczesny – Joao Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Alex Sandro – Khedira, Pjanic – Bernardeschi, Dybala, Douglas Costa – Ronaldo

Lazio Rome

Unlike their great rivals from Turin, Lazio’s players have started the new season with home defeat by runner-up Napoli despite they were the first one to have a lead thanks to goal scored by their best scorer Immobilie in 25 minute. Later on, Milik and Insigne turned the result up-side down, while Lazio had unsuccessfully tried to score the second goal and at least one point, which would mean a lot ahead of difficult away match with Juventus.

It is what it is, and team led by manager Inazghi must forget the mishap as soon as possible. It is natural that return of midfielders Leive and Lulic means a lot for the team, who were suspended for match with Napoli. Besides the two of them defender Patric was unable to play due to the same reason, who has to stay on the bench for two more matches. Stopper Luiz Felipe, defender Lukaku and newly arrived midfielder Berisha are injured and they will too skip the match with Juventus.

Starting lineups Lazio Rome: Strakosha – Caceres, Acerbi, Radu – Marusic, Badelj, Leiva, Lulic – Milinkovic-Savic, Luis Alberto – Immobile

Verdict:

After Juventus luckily won Chievo away last weekend we expect from them to play much better against Lazio at their own stadium, which in turn likes to play tough with Juventus lately, which is why we have opted here for a pick with plenty of goals.
