AC Milan Lazio match preview

In the first of them seventh-placed Milan meets third-positioned Lazio, which has big 15 points more at the moment. Besides, Lazio comes to the San Siro after eight-game unbeaten streak of six wins and two draws, while on the other hand the Rossoneri didn’t lose last four matches; won three and drew one. Regarding their head-to-head played last autumn at the Olimpico stadium in Rome, it had ended as Lazio’s triumph 4-1.

AC Milan

Milan can boast with fact that it has five-game unbeaten streak in league matches with Lazio, or more precisely it won three and drew two matches out of last five, which give reason to their fans to believe that their team can win now at least one point. Even more, Milan plays better and better in last four matches. Turning point was triumph over city rival Milan in the Coppa Italia, while after it they won two and drew two league matches.

The only drew was played near the end of previous year when they pulled on point from difficult away match with Fiorentina. After that Milan won at home Crotone 1-0 and Cagliari away 2-1 last weekend. Of course, all this made very happy Milan’s temperamental coach Gattus, and it is quite realistic to expect that he will send a similar team to face Lazio. Out of action are only two defenders, Conti who is injured and Rodriguez who is suspended.

Probable lineups AC Milan: G. Donnarumma – Calabria, Bonucci, Romagnoli, Abate – Kessie, Biglia, Bonaventura – Suso, Kalinic, Calhanoglu

Lazio

We have said that Lazio comes to the San Siro being in a great mood, given it won four and drew one league matches, while in the Cup it reached the semi-finals after elimination of Cittadelle and Fiorentina. It opponent in the Coppa Italia semi-finals will be no one else but Milan. Due to that fact this league match gets in importance as both coaches will probably try to keep for themselves some of best tactics for two coming matches in the Coppa Italia.

It can be expected that Lazio plays maximally aggressively and offensively at the San Siro on Sunday, especially as they scored even 13 goals in last three matches. Lazio first defeated SPAL away by 5-2, than Chievo at home 5-1, and finally Udinese 3-0. They achieved all that without their best scorer Immobile, who is injured and will probably skip duel with Milan, just like midfielder di Gennero.

Probable lineups Lazio Rome: Strakosha – Walace, de Vrij, Radu – Marusic, Parolo, Leiva, Milinkovic-Savic, Lulic – Luis Alberto – Anderson

Verdict:

Although Milan plays much better in last couple of matches we nevertheless believe that the Milanese should be satisfied if they pull one point from match with Lazio, given that the guests are in great shape and have eight-game unbeaten streak of even six wins and two draws.
